Sapphire FUE Technique

Sapphire FUE Technique

People with hair loss have hair transplantation as a solution method. One of the most popular and widely used hair transplant procedures is follicular unit extraction (FUE). Simply described, the procedure involves removing and transplanting individual follicular units, each containing 1-4 hairs, from one part of the body to another.

This usually requires removing hair follicles from the back or sides of the head, where the density is still high, and transplanting them to the balding area on the top of the head. The development of the Sapphire FUE method creates an effective acceleration in hair transplantation technology.

A sub-variation of the current popular follicular unit extraction (FUE) approach, the Sapphire FUE technique focuses on the grooving phase of the procedure, using specialist sapphire blades instead of steel. Safir FUE, which is a very up-to-date technology, has satisfied and continues to satisfy many patients until today. In fact, the Sapphire FUE method is an improvement of the existing FUE procedure. Sapphire hair transplantation is performed similarly to traditional FUE transplantation.

The difference between the two is the blade used in the channeling phase. While the traditional FUE method uses steel blades, the Sapphire FUE technique uses sapphire blades as the name suggests. Sapphire blades made from a precious stone attract attention with their sharpness, smoothness and longevity. These attributes allow the surgeon to create microchannels, which are essentially smaller, more precise incisions in the donor area.

Density, angle and direction of new hair growth after hair growth are determined according to the type of these channels. The sapphire blade’s capacity to create narrower, more precise grooves can produce results that look more natural than a traditional steel blade.

Moreover, Sapphire FUE hair transplantation is a painless treatment. Since there is very little tissue damage, the transplanted follicles stick to their new places very easily. Sapphire blades have antibacterial properties by nature.
